Easton, Take Your Shot at Where Dewey Will Squat

EASTON, Conn. – Dewey the Cow’s “deposit” could earn you $500! Buy a square at the Easton Public Library and watch Saturday, Sept. 24, to see whether Dewey hits your spot.

The Cow Chip Raffle is part of A Country Fair, presented by the Friends of the Easton Public Library. The fair will be 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 24. All proceeds will benefit the library.

Last year, the winner of the Cow Chip Raffle used her winnings to buy a plane ticket home for Christmas, said Bernadette Baldino, director.

Squares can be purchased for $25 at the Easton Public Library. Square sales will close at 2 p.m., when Dewey will go into the pen.

There will be games for kids, pony rides, an apple pie-eating contest, a pie-baking contest, penny candy, bunnies for petting, face painting, bean bag toss, tractor touch and raffle baskets. Food will include hot dogs, baked potatoes with all the fixings, cotton candy, popcorn, lemonade and more. Nothing will cost more than $3.

Take a chance to win a cake at the Cake Walk. Participants will walk around, and when the music stops, a number will be called. If you land on that number, you take the cake.
