Easton Swarms Sought for Trivia Bee

Easton teams in hives of three are invited to compete in the Easton Learning Foundation's third annual townwide Trivia Bee. The foundation will test the swarms of trivia buffs to raise funds for school programs.

The Trivia Bee is set for Thursday, May 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Samuel Staples Elementary School. Admission and refreshments are free.

Teams are encouraged to "bee creative" by choosing a name and dressing in costume. There will be "free-bees" for all that participate, including gifts and trophies to the winning teams and those with the best costumes. There is a $300 tax-deductible registration fee per team.

The Easton Learning Foundation, a nonprofit organization, funds classroom projects and state-of-the-art technologies that are beyond the scope of the school budget. For more information on the foundation, visit its website at www.eastonlearningfoundation.org.

Each three-person hive will compete in rounds. The winning team from each round will go on to the championship, where team members will decide on a written response. A list of trivia topics and rules are posted on the Easton Learning Foundation's website. All questions are formed by Fred Tencic, ELF treasurer.

Those who do not wish to be on a team but want to participate can sponsor a team for $300 or half a team for $150. Team sponsors will be listed in the Bee Program and the ELF website. Advertisements in the Bee Program are also available and donations may be made with an ad or message in the Bee Program. All details related to the Bee can be found at www.eastonlearningfoundation.org.
