Easton Senior Center Holds Silent Auction

EASTON, Conn. – The Easton Senior Center Advisory Board is currently taking bids on a variety of items for a silent auction, including a James Dietz print signed by the artist. Bids will be accepted through April 27.

The advisory board showed its fundraising chops two years ago when it raked in $15 million to build the Senior Center. It also raised $1,500 during a quilt sale where quilts made in the Senior Center weaving room were sold.

The silent auction is taking bids on items that were donated to the senior center. There are a few valuable pieces, including the Dietz print and an antique framed silk embroidery of England and Wales.

Sharon Cregeen, a Fairfield lawyer who chairs the advisory board, said the money raised from the auction will support Senior Center activities, which range from tai chi to yoga classes and pottery weaving.

Bids on silent auction items are taken weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Senior Center.
