Easton School Needs Gardening Volunteers

EASTON, Conn. – Members of the Helen Keller Middle School Parent Teachers Association are looking for volunteers to put their green thumbs to good use and help beautify school grounds.

PTA members have been spreading mulch and weeding and planting all sorts of flowers throughout October at the middle school and hope to finish the job just in time for the school to receive the Blue Ribbon School Award in a few weeks.

“We are trying to maintain the gardens and make it look nice for the school,” said PTA member Cheryl Frier, “and the more hands the better.” Members of the PTA are asking anyone to donate their time or gardening supplies such as shovels, gloves, pruners, rakes and edgers.

Members of the PTA will be at the school over the next few weeks and welcome any volunteers with or without experience. Anyone wishing to help out can call Frier at 203-254-3088 or send an email to cherylfrier@yahoo.com.
