EASTON, Conn. Its not just friends or family members who have Amazon wish lists. The Easton Public Library has one, too, and is hoping Santa will deliver certain books and movies over the holidays.
The librarys materials budget, the money we use to buy books, DVDs, magazines, CDs and audio books has been cut by 40 percent over the past two years, according to the librarys website. Which is why the library hopes residents can donate or purchase those items for the collection.
If a resident donates materials, a bookplate at the front of the volume will list his or her name.
The library has more than 500 books on its Amazon wish list. Here are just a few:
"Here's Looking at Euclid" by Alex Bellos
"Oogy: The Dog Only a Family Could Love" by Larry Levin
"Amy and Rogers Epic Detour" by Morgan Matson
"Spotting for Nellie" by Pamela Lowell
"Chasing Orion" by Kathryn Lasky
"Animal 123" by Kate Sheppard
"Animal I Spy" by Kate Sheppard
"The Grand Design" by Stephen Hawkins
The movie wish list includes more than 440 films. Here are just a few:
The "Star Wars" original trilogy and prequels
The "Harry Potter" series collection
"The Woody Allen Collection," set 1
"Rocky"
"Reservoir Dogs"
"2012"
"Pawn Stars" TV series
