Now that the snow has finally melted, the grass, flowers and trash can be seen once again.
Easton residents are encouraged to participate in a spring cleanup of trash and debris Saturday, April 9. Free clear trash bags are available at the public works department, the Easton Public Library, the Easton Village Store, Greisers Store and Samuel Staples Elementary School to help collect the garbage.
Last year, volunteers filled two truckloads with garbage, including file cabinets and grocery carts, said Cheryl Frier of Easton.
Refreshments will be served at the Easton Garage, 15 Westport Road, where items may be dropped off before 4 p.m. Separate bags should be used for recyclables. Trash and toxic items will not be accepted.
The Easton Garden Club has been sponsoring Easton's Green & Clean Day since April 1979.
