EASTON, Conn. Easton readers are up in arms over a recent story in The Daily Easton revealing a bitter disagreement between Town Clerk Derek Buckley and First Selectman Thomas Herrmann.
The two are sparring over driveway permit regulations, a tiff ignited by a former Easton resident's small claims suit against the town regarding the release of a driveway bond.
The Daily Easton has received several reader emails, and several have left comments on our Facebook page. Here are some of those emails:
EagleEye: Mr. Herrmann publicly professes to "love" the Town of Easton, but he refuses to step up and take the leadership role in resolving this crisis of confidence. Quite the fickle lover. Man up, Mr. Herrmann!
155staples: Are you kidding me? Why doesn't anyone in the town take responsibility for this nonsense? Why are you treating taxpaying residents like garbage?

Shelli Mealha: It does not appear that things are being handled well at all. It's embarrassing and sad that the people in this town have to go through so much red tape to get things done.
Jane Butler: I understand that the town employees have Easton's best interest at heart, but they don't have to be so tyrannical. I have had work done on our property and the contractors complain about how difficult it is to deal with Bill Martin and Ed Nagy. This attitude would not fly if these men were elected to their jobs.
