“We are pleased to host this annual event,” said Joe Carbone, president and CEO of The WorkPlace. “Dress for Success is a testimony to our community supporting each other, especially in this tight labor market.”
The fundraiser supported Dress for Success’s mission to empower women to achieve economic independence.
Models for the evening included state Sens. Tony Hwang of Fairfield and Carlo Leone of Stamford, local dignitaries and media personalities.
The event had a number of corporate sponsors, including Connecticut Community Bank, Xerox, Bic, Aquarion Water Co., Frontier Communications, MPI, People’s United Bank and Bigelow Tea.
“If it wasn’t for the professional women’s group in The WorkPlace’s ‘Dress for Success,’ there would be a lot of women that don’t know what they can do,” said Ertha Willis, a Dress for Success Mid-Fairfield County participant. “It made me stronger.”
Dress for Success is based at The WorkPlace in Bridgeport, but the event was held in Westport.
