Breakfast Rings in the Holiday Season

Nothing kicks off the local holiday season quite like the annual Children's Holiday Breakfast hosted by the Weston Women's League. This year's event will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Weston Intermediate School.

In addition to a pancake and sausage breakfast, visitors can purchase local arts and crafts and children can enjoy a moon bounce. The kids can do such hands-on crafts as designing holiday cards, decorating cell phone covers, scratch art and beading.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Weston Social Services and Children's Connection. Weston Social Services provides crisis intervention, energy and food assistance, counseling, child and elderly protective services, and collaboration with senior and youth centers.

The Children's Connection, a program of the Human Services Council, has responded to the community's needs of neglected, physically and sexually abused children and their families for 35 years. It is one of seven fully accredited child advocacy centers in Connecticut and is a member of the National Children's Alliance.

Tickets for the Children's Holiday Breakfast can be purchased by emailing Kerry Scaramuzza. Family tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door. Individual tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door. Children under 2 are free.
