Bradley Cooper Shows No Limits in 'Limitless'

Bradley Cooper is shockingly incredible in the new thriller "Limitless." Cooper plays a writer named Eddie Morra who has no money, gets dumped by his girlfriend and suffers major writer's block. He runs into his ex-wife's brother, who he knows is a drug dealer.

He introduces Morra to a new pharmaceutical called NZT that he claims is FDA approved. This drug allows him to access every bit of information that he has read, heard or seen since birth. Morra decides to take the drug, thinking he has nothing to lose. He writes a whole story in about five days, gets a makeover and decides to trade stocks on Wall Street.

Because Morra is taking NZT, he can predict exactly what will happen to every stock and takes over Wall Street. People start to notice his achievements and are perplexed, especially Carl Van Loon, played by Robert De Niro. Van Loon is planning to broker a giant merger and is asking for Morra's help.

Morra is under an immense amount of pressure while taking NZT, and we see how he copes with these struggles. This film is fast-paced and extremely unpredictable. Even though "Limitless" is rated PG-13, it is violent at times and some scenes are a bit frightening. I definitely do not suggest this movie to kids and teenagers bothered by violence.

Cooper hits this one out of the park. I expected him to play his usual smarmy ladies' man. However, to say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. I was blown away by his performance as such a serious and complicated character.

I give "Limitless" a 9 out of 10 for its exceptional acting, its original storyline and its ability to make you believe every aspect of the film.
