Matt Damon and Emily Blunt overflow with chemistry in "The Adjustment Bureau." Damon plays a politician named David Norris who is running for a seat in the U.S. Senate. When he meets a dancer named Elise in an unexpected way, his whole life changes. He realizes he has fallen in love with her, but supposedly that's not in the cards for him.
David discovers a group of men that makes sure everything goes as planned. They inform him that he is not to see Elise ever again because it could ruin not only his future, but also hers. After a few years, David runs into Elise and decides that he can't live without her. They both take a leap of faith and risk everything to be together.
Damon and Blunt not only act flawlessly as individuals, but they also work tremendously well together. They are believable as two people in love.
This movie has many thrilling action scenes, but it also has some romantic scenes. Some of the dialogue is a bit cliché but still cute. It is fast-paced, thought provoking and it keeps you on your toes. When it ended, I was surprised it was over because it felt so short. That's the only negative I have for this movie. There didn't seem to be much of a plot. All questions were answered and all problems were resolved, but it was missing something. "The Adjustment Bureau" is perfect for people who like action movies, romantic movies, and/or mind-boggling movies.
The main idea of this film is that true love is so powerful that it can even change one's fate. I give "The Adjustment Bureau" a 9 out of 10 for its interesting storyline and spot-on acting.
