Or are they? For Dori Nissenson, founder of Hands on at Home Physical Therapy, it's all about providing patients with one-on-one, in-home physical therapy.
“People are busier than ever before,” explained the Westport resident. “And being in pain is an inconvenience.
"My goal is to not only make physical therapy easy to schedule, but to return my patients to superior function in the shortest amount of time."
With over 20 years of experience, Nissenson began her career at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she treated both pediatric and adult patients with a wide range of orthopedic and neurological diagnoses.
“I believe in treating the whole person,” Nissenson explained. “As a first step, I perform detailed assessments of my patients in order to fully understand how their diagnoses impact their daily lives. Then I devise and execute integrative and individualized treatment plans aimed at optimal recovery.”
Among her specializations for adults: Joint pain and dysfunction, back pain, biomechanical alignment and posture dysfunction, foot disorders and customized orthotics, postoperative diagnoses, work station/ergonomic assessments, deconditioning and muscle weakness, stroke, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease.
Pediatric specializations include sports injuries, orthopedic diagnoses, postoperative diagnoses and customized orthotics
