The novel tells the story of three sisters who come back to their childhood home in Westport when their estranged mother -- who lives at Compo Beach, (possibly on Minuteman Hill) -- is diagnosed with a terminal illness.
It's a story rife with old jealousies, secret fears, and family ties.
And, in usual Green-style, The New York Times best-selling author weaves in a variety of local landmarks, from Spic and Span in Southport, to Bartaco in Westport as well as other area spots including Il Vilano and Big Top.
To celebrate her book launch -- it's her 19th book -- the Westport resident is holding a birthday bash and benefit with a farm-to-table dinner at Gilbertie's Farm in Easton on Saturday, June 3. Proceeds will benefit the Westport-based Pink Aid, which helps underserved local women survive breast cancer treatment with support and dignity. Tickets and information HERE.
On Wednesday, June 7th, Green will be at Norwalk Public Library for an Author Luncheon at noon. Ticket info HERE.
The author will also be in Darien on Wednesday, June 21 at Wee Burn Country Club; ticket details HERE.
The book is officially out on Tuesday, June 6. On that day, she will speak at the Eastchester, N.Y. Barnes & Noble at 7 p.m. with Westchester blogger Beth Feldman of RoleMommy.com.
