The race, which is the Weston High School PTO’s largest fund-raiser, is open to walkers and runners of all ages and all levels.
Advance registration, which closes on Friday, May 23, is $25. The PTO also sponsors a Kids Fun Run, starting at 8 a.m. on the day of the race at the high school's varsity track. The Fun Run, which costs $10, features races of 100, 400, and 1600 meters, with ribbons for all participants.
This year’s 5K will be timed by Super Race Systems, using the latest in disposable electronic chip bibs. The course will also be newly re-certified, giving serious runners an excellent opportunity to post a fast, official time. Race organizers have also worked with a number of local sponsors to provide both a physical and a virtual (online) goody bag for participants. Commemorative T-Shirts will be available for the first 550 race registrants.
