Renamed as Elvira Mae, the store, which stands opposite Old Mill Beach at 222 Hillspoint Road, is scheduled to open its doors once again on or around Thursday, July 4.
The shop’s new owners, Hal and Betsy Kravitz, are California natives who relocated to Westport last October, according to Westport Now. They have been overseeing the store’s operations since before the sale officially closed earlier in May. It was previously operated by the Yiovanakos, who ran the store for more than two decades.
Betsy says the store will open at 7 a.m. each day for breakfast and lunch items. After 4 p.m., food will be served from a front store serving window.
The store’s offerings will include ice cream, bulk candy, grab-and-go items and more.
