EASTON, Conn. What are the best books to read this summer? If you go by the best seller lists, the fiction book to read is still Fifty Shades of Grey, by E.L. James, part of a three-book erotic novel series.
We've got 'Fifty Shades of Grey,' director of the Easton Public Library Bernadette Baldino said. Its a hot title for the summer in many ways.
Baldino said theres a waiting list for the book but many new titles are available. Among her picks for summer reading are Tigers Wife by Tea Obreht, a mystery allegory and James Pattersons Private Games, which she said is about a criminal trying to destroy the London Olympics, so its very timely.
She also suggests Westport author Jane Greens Another Piece of My Heart.
For summer beach reads, she picks Lisa Scottolines Come Home, Janet Evanovichs Explosive Eighteen and The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks.
Weston librarian Karen Tatarka has her own summer book list, which includes The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, a fantasy novel for young adults that can be read by parents and their kids, she said.
The Last Werewolf" by Glen Duncan is another summer pick that has a fantasy sci-fi bent to it, she said.
