Westport Writers’ Workshop instructor, executive business writer and coach Karen Kingsley will lead the workshop from 8 to 11 a.m. Oct. 10 at The Westport Inn.

Kingsley has more than 25 years of experience in writing speeches, web content, collateral, advertising copy and marketing materials for companies such as Anheuser-Busch, Procter & Gamble, Ralston Purina and Rubbermaid. For the past nine years, Kingsley has taught business writing at the Gotham Writers’ Workshop while privately consulting at several corporations, including A&E TV Networks, Sotheby’s and Crispin Porter.

“Every email, proposal and PowerPoint presentation showcases how we think. So it’s important to make everything we write clear, direct and well organized,” said Kingsley in a statement. "If writing doesn't come easily to you, or you want to hone your skills and improve your effectiveness, this workshop will give you tips, techniques and best practices that you can apply immediately to be a stronger and more compelling writer. Participants should plan to bring paper, a laptop or tablet to this hands-on workshop."

The fee for the seminar is $50 per member and $65 per future member. To register, or for more information, call 203-227-9234 or visit the chamber's website.
