WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport Library wants to make sure your yard is ready for the upcoming winter.
Master gardener Annelise McCay will share tips on how to nurture your garden through the winter and prepare it for spring at noon on Sept. 18 in the Westport Library’s McManus Room, 20 Jesup Road.
The class will teach when to cut back plants, how to protect delicate perennials and what to plant to nourish the soil through the winter months. McCay is a certified University of Connecticut master gardener advocating and educating about organic gardening through organizations such as the Fairfield PTAC as district School Garden Coordinator, Wakeman Town Farm, Fairfield Organic Teaching Farm and the Connecticut Northeast Organic Farmers Association.
