Staples Graduate Opens Photography Exhibit

WESTON, Conn. – Georgiana Silk, a Weston photographer, will open a show of her work at the Weston Public Library on Saturday, Sept. 8, with a reception from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The show will run in the Community Room until Oct. 31.

The exhibit includes 46 photos, including magazine covers, Rolling Stones concert pictures and children’s portraits.

Silk is the daughter of George Silk, a renowned World War II-era photographer for Life magazine. She graduated from Staples High School, Kirkland College and the Art Center College in Los Angeles before launching a photography career that included work at Time Inc. magazines such as Discover, Fortune and People. She has since taken corporate and architectural photographs as well as children’s portraits.

She has lived in Weston since 1980 and raised three children, who attended Weston public schools.
