Hart, a Westport resident, and her husband, Mark Wilkerson, developed both clothing lines that feature graphic tees, shorts, hoodies and shirts. Hart will highlight the spring/summer collection at the trunk show. The inaugural Queen of Harts girls’ line of graphic tees, available for girls age 2 to 12, is inspired by Hart’s love of horses and horseback riding when she was young and designed with fun, inspiring verbiage to empower girls to be confident, fearless, adventure-seeking and not afraid to get their hands dirty.
The King of Harts collection, available for boys age 2 to 12, also focuses on graphic tees and as layering pieces, such as shirts and outerwear as well as shorts, pants and denim. As each King of Harts boys’ collection is inspired by a different city in the U.S., spring is dedicated to the city of Detroit, Michigan. With its long history in the car industry and the birthplace of Motown and Americana at its core, the husband-and-wife duo found it to be a place rich with creativity and invention that they could translate into fun graphics for kids.
Hart and Wilkerson offer a variety of color options (grey, red, royal blue and navy blue) to some of their favorite designs, in order to please even the pickiest “style kings and queens,” as they call their fashion-minded kids and customers. Each piece has a limited run to ensure fresh new styles.
The couple launched King of Harts in 2014 so they could create a line of cool, functional and resilient clothing options that could keep up with their three active boys.
