Meet Eighth-Grade Author At Easton Library

EASTON, Conn. – Kyla LoPresti, a 13-year-old eighth-grader from West Haven who recently published her first novel and is working on a sequel, will speak at the Easton Public Library at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

“I had a dream one night and woke up and started writing,” said Kyla. She dreamed about a small farm in Connecticut where the main character of “Flashback” lives. The book tells the story of Isabelle Holloway, who was murdered in the 1800s and wakes up on the farm in the present day. “She’s reincarnated and her murderer comes back to get her. He’s a vampire, and she has to figure out who he is to avoid being killed again.”

Kyla self-published the book at Create Space, Amazon’s independent publishing company.

She’s working on a sequel to “Flashback.” “I have 50 pages left and I’m thinking of naming it ‘Reality,’” she said.

She has an idea for a series of five books. “I have the outlines of the books so I know what I’m going to write,” Kyla said.

Kyla discussed her book at the West Haven library and held a book signing at Collective Stories in Milford. She’ll speak about her experiences and answer questions at the Easton Library on Wednesday afternoon. Copies of “Flashback” will be available for purchase and signing.
