Artistic director David Connell will conduct the 15 ringers – playing 91 handbells plus chimes – in a program that spans a range of moods and styles, from the Baroque to Enya. Selections will include familiar songs – "Deep River," "Singin' in the Rain" and some lively Strauss waltzes – as well as others tailor-made for handbells.

The Jubilate Ringers is Fairfield County's only community handbell choir. It was co-founded in 2006 by Ellen Dickinson and Jo Shute, then directing bell choirs at Norfield Church in Weston and the Unitarian Church in Westport, respectively. The group began as an advanced handbell ensemble drawn from the two churches' bell choirs. It became part of Music on the Hill upon its founding in 2011, and is open to ringers from the community by audition.

The ringers have premiered a number of works commissioned for them by Music on the Hill, including several by Music on the Hill artistic directors Dickinson and Connell. The ringers will debut Music on the Hill's newly purchased Malmark handbells.

Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door; children and students are free. Click here to purchase tickets, reserve by e-mail at tickets@musiconthehillCT.org or call 203-529-3133.

Music on the Hill is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to high-quality music performance and education for all ages.
