The exhibit will feature works from members of the Greater New York chapter of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators. Their work will be on display weekdays from Sept. 7 through Oct. 31 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Highstead is closed on weekends and holidays.
“People have looked at the world around them since time immemorial and they have recorded it in many ways,” Dick Rauh, exhibit coordinator, said in a press release. “This appreciation of nature has taken many forms, and this show is an attempt to pay homage to these past nature lovers by contemporary artists.”
The opening event and exhibition are free and open to the public, but registration for the opening event is encouraged. To RSVP, call 203-938-8809 or send an email to rsvp@highstead.net.
Established in 1982, Highstead works to conserve the forested landscape of New England and serves as center for the study of woodland plants and habitats.
