Aspetuck Art Show Starts Friday In Weston

WESTON, Conn. -- "ALT Arts: A Celebration of the Aspetuck Land Trust" is set to start Friday in Weston.

The fundraising exhibition is set to focus "on the work of nearly 40 regional artists and marking 47 years since ALT began acquiring and preserving open space in Westport, Weston, Easton and Fairfield," according to a press release. Local artists will exhibit their work from Nov. 8-30 at the Weston Public Library, according to the release. 

"Participating artists have agreed to donate 50 percent of the proceeds of sales at the exhibit to benefit the land trust’s conservation and education programs," representatives said in the release.

A public reception and silent auction is set for 6 p.m. Friday to kick off the exhibition. Aspetuck Land Trust members are invited to the special private preview at 5 p.m., according to the release. 

“We are grateful to these artists for their vision and generosity, said David Brant, executive director of ALT, according to the release. "We hope that public enthusiasm and participation in this first of its kind event for our organization will expand our community outreach and help people understand what we do to conserve open space and educate on the environment." 

Local artists participating in the exhibition include Westport's Stacy Bass, Nina Bentley, Miggs Burroughs, Alberta Ciofolelli, Pamela Einarsen, Sandi Haber Fifield, Cecilia Moy Fradet, N.W. Gibbons, Jane Lubin and Alyse Rosner, Ann Weiner; Weston's Binnie Birstein, Kerry Brock, Leslie Giuliani, Judy Henderson, Roger Mudre, Bobbi Eike Mullen, Frances Palmer, Dale Reinker, Nancy Reinker, Scott Richter, Eve Stockton, Hans Wilhelm, Margaret Wirtenberg, Fairfield's Susan Newbold, Roxanne Faber Savage, Missy Savard and Easton's James Prosek, Susan Sharp and Joan Wheeler, according to the release. 

Additional artists include Nash Hyon of Wilton, David Dunlop of Wilton, Nancy McTague-Stock of Wilton and Nancy Moore of Ridgefield, according to the release.
