In addition to the exhibition, Rich Mellin from Mellin’s Antiques, will give a talk on Canton, focusing on cider jugs – complete with a hard cider tasting!
The Mellin’s book, "Collecting Canton: In Pursuit of the Best," will be available for sale, along with a free verbal Canton appraisal (with purchase). It is the first book of its kind exclusively on Chinese export porcelain, with the Canton design.
This will be the first exhibition The Westport Historical Society has ever had on Chinese export porcelain.
Gail and Rich Mellin have been antique dealers for 38 years, and lecture and exhibit across the country. They are members of Antiques Dealers Association of America and the Antiques Council.
There is a suggested $5 per person donation and a drawing to win an $800 Canton fruit basket with stand. RSVP to info@westonhistoricalsociety.org.
The Weston Historical Society is at 104 Weston Road. For more information, visit the group's website.
