Your Keys, Please: Customers Enjoy Curbside Service In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. — Shoppers were sure happy to see the valets at Bedford Square, the new downtown shopping complex, during Thursday’s rainstorm.

With the municipal lot several puddles from the development project’s front doors, those visiting newly opened Anthropologie & Co. and Amis Trattoria — the complex’s first businesses — ditched the downpour in favor of the complimentary service near the Church Street entrance.

The development, formerly the Westport Weston YMCA, has been about 10 years in the making, according to Dan Zelson principal at Charter Realty and Development, which owns Bedford Square.

Valet parking is available daily and will be especially useful when more shops open in the coming months.

When completely occupied, the 40,000-square-foot site will be home to additional retail, a small amount of office space and 24 residential units.
