Westport Moms Build An Empire Out Of Granola; Expand To Westchester

WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Granola Bar, with locations in Westport, Greenwich, and Stamford, is expanding to Westchester, N.Y. with openings in Armonk and Rye.

The Granola Bar is also opening at 96 Purchase Street in Rye in mid to late September.

Fans of the restaurant know it for its freshly made eggs, avocado toast, sandwiches, wraps, salads, gourmet coffee and, of course, granola. It was started by Westport moms Julie Mountain and Dana Noorily. The two admit they "Thelma and Louise'd" it when they opened in Westport in December 2013.

Said Moutain: "At the time we were two mothers who just wanted a healthy place to eat and have good coffee."
