The Wahooo Swim Monitor System was implemented at summer camps at the Wilton Y after a classmate of co-founder Dave Cutler's daughter drowned in a local lake, despite the fact that there were lifeguards and camp counselors watching.

The New Canaan Y has also installed the Wahooo system.

The Wahooo Swim Monitor System implements a headband, which they hope to coin as "the bike helmet of swimming," that sets off an alarm on shore when a child's head is underwater for longer than 30 seconds.
