Kindred Spirits & Wine, with stores in Fairfield and Monroe, moved into a third location at 1790 Post Road East.

Customer service and expertise are hallmarks of the company whose reputation hinges on an educated wine staff who freely share information about the products they sell.

"We've been told customer service is the best they get. Customers are greeted with smiles by people who are knowledgeable," said Greg Cobaugh, who is the wine manager in Fairfield.

The new location fills the space previously occupied by Bottle Rocket.

Cobaugh explained that though each of the stores do carry "bare bones" wine labels, they are not mainstream.

"We have varietals that include red Burgundy, Bordeaux, Champagne from France, often small villages, from artisanal wineries, and obscure ones from Italy," he said.

All stores are stocked for the holidays with such choices as growers Champagnes, white Burgundy and Cru Beaujolais, Cobaugh noted is compatible when eating turkey. In addition to a large variety of wine offerings, the store also sells hard to find beers and liquors.

Other excellent choices to serve for Thanksgiving choices would be "definitely pinot gris," which is a domestic, white wine that has fruitiness. Riesling too, which has a little sweet, fruitiness, make poultry taste less dry, according to Cobaugh.

Kindred Spirits & Wine in Westport is at 1790 Post Road East.

Kindred Spirits & Wine in Monroe is at 450 Main St.

Kindred Spirits & Wine in Fairfield is located in Birch Plaza, 2480 Black Rock Turnpike #1.
