“I would wear them out and people would ask if they could buy them,” the Westport woman said. “So I thought, ‘Hmmm…’”
And thus was born Blue Lotus Bracelets, a business Robinson runs out of her Westport home through a Facebook page, an Etsy shop and stints at local farmers markets.
Robinson uses semi-precious stones, including rose quartz, Labradorite and turquoise, and fashions them into attractive bracelets, often including little charms, such as buddhas, elephants and, of course, lotus flowers.
“I like to have a good message that you can wear on your body,” she said, pointing to a band with a silver skull hanging from it. “Well, this one is for if Keith Richards comes by.”
Robinson has been peddling her wares for over a year, and she’s becoming a staple of farmers markets, including the Saturday events in Westport and Southport. She’s also interested in stocking her jewelry in local retail shops.
Robinson will create custom bracelets through her Blue Lotus Bangle Bar. Customers can request their initials or those of a loved one and charms with a personalized meaning.
“I just absolutely love it,” she said.

Blue Lotus is usually among the vendors each Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Winter Farmers Market of Southport at the Ukrainian American Club, 279 King’s Drive, in Fairfield’s Southport neighborhood. The market will run through April 30.
