CT Officers Rescue Residents From Burning Apartment House Several Connecticut police officers, including two who were injured, are being lauded for rescuings residents from an apartment house on fire. The incident took place in Hartford County just after midnight on Monday, May 8 at 50 Hillside St. in East Hartford. Pole Comes Crashing Down On Rolled-Over Car In Vernon A person had to be rescued through a sunroof after their vehicle rolled over in Vernon, causing a telephone pole to come crashing down.  The crash happened during the early morning of Friday, Feb. 10 around 2 a.m., when police and firefighters were sent to the area of 248 Vernon Ave. for a report of a rolled-over vehicle, according to the Vernon Fire Department.  After arriving at the scene, officials found a rolled-over car with a fallen telephone pole on top of it. Woman Falls 25 Feet Into River In Torrington, Saved By Firefighters Firefighters were able to pull off a daring rescue after a woman fell 25 feet off a bridge in Torrington.  The incident happened on Monday afternoon, Jan. 16 when a woman fell off a bridge on Norfolk Road (Route 272) into a river near the Reuben Hart Reservoir, according to the Torrington Fire Department.  Firefighters were able to rescue the woman over the span of 25 minutes by using ropes tied to the ladder of a fire truck.  A woman who fell 25 feet from a bridge in Torrington was rescued by firefighters. The incident took place in Northern Fairfield County around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11 in Bethel on Budd Drive in the Stony Hill district. Woman Trapped In Car Hospitalized After Crash In Region A woman was seriously injured during a crash in Western Massachusetts. It happened around 11 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 13, in Hampden County, at the intersection of Dwight and Linden streets in Holyoke. According to the Holyoke Fire Department, the car the woman was driving struck several parked cars, causing the woman to become entrapped in the vehicle. Firefighters used hydraulic tools to free her from the car. The woman was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The extent of her injuries is currently unknown. No one else was injured.

Man Pulled From Pond Hospitalized In Region The condition of a 49-year-old man pulled from a Western Massachusetts pond is unknown, according to police.
