One Dead After Officer-Involved Shooting In Region A man was killed by police in Western Massachusetts after he allegedly stabbed an officer in the face and attempted to attack another. The incident took place in Hampden County around 8:30 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 9, when the Springfield Police responded to the area of Liberty Street and Cass Street for a report of a man who pulled a knife on a victim, said Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police. Duo Nabbed After Shooting In Region Two men were arrested following an alleged assault and shooting in Western Massachusetts. Hampden County residents Mario Santiago, age 31, of Chicopee, and Josiah Finlay, age 27, of Springfield, were arrested around 1:45 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 12, after police responded to a report of shots fired in Springfield. Two Hospitalized After Crash In Region Two Hospitalized After Crash In Region
Two Hospitalized After Crash In Region Two people were hospitalized after a crash on a busy roadway in the region. It happened on Tuesday, Sept. 21 in Hampden County on Liberty Street in Springfield. One of the vehicles reportedly rolled over. The two people were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and transported to local hospitals for evaluation, the Springfield Fire Department said. No other information was immediately available regarding the crash. The cause of the accident has not been released as it remains under investigation.
