Dutchess County resident Robert Riley-Brown, of Wappingers Falls, died at New York Presbyterian Milstein Heart Center on Saturday, Aug. 20, according to his obituary. He was born in the Litchfield County town of Sharon, Connecticut. Tolland County Man Sets Record For Catching Largest Catfish On Record A whopping 21.3-pound white catfish caught in Connecticut last month is a state record and could also be a world record for the species. The whopper of a fish was snagged by Tolland County resident Ben Tomkunas who shattered the former record of 12.75 pounds, said the Connecticut Fish and Wildlife Department. Tomkunas, age 25, caught the fish late at night in Coventry Lake on Saturday, Aug. 21 while fishing with a buddy. It was longer than 3 feet, the department said. Ex-All-County HS Football, Basketball Standout From Connecticut Dies George Taranto, a Connecticut resident and former high school sports standout in Westchester County, has died at the age of 77. According to his obituary, Taranto, of Danbury, was a graduate of Ardsley High School and was all-county in football and basketball. He served in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1965.
