1 Person Burned During CT House Fire One person received burns to their hands while attempting to put out a house fire in Fairfield County. The blaze occurred in Westport around 3:30 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 12, on Riverside Avenue. First arriving firefighters reported smoke and fire visible from the front right side of the home, said Assistant Chief Philip Hessberger, of the Westport Fire Department. The fire was isolated to a three-season porch and was quickly extinguished using a hose line off the first arriving engine. Firefighter Falls Through Burning CT Home A Fairfield County firefighter was injured after falling through a floor while battling a structure fire. The incident took place in Bridgeport around 10:10 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 2 in the 700 block of Park Street. Firefighters responded to the structure fire after receiving multiple 911 regarding a fire, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management For Bridgeport. Numerous People Rescued After Residential Fire Breaks Out In Connecticut Numerous residents were rescued from an apartment fire in Fairfield County. The fire started around 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 5, at 1130 Williams St. in Bridgeport, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management for Bridgeport. According to Appleby, the first arriving units reported fire on the second floor which had extended to the third floor. CT Bridal Shop Heavily Damaged During Fire A Fairfield County bridal shop was heavily damaged during a fire over the weekend. The fire started around 6 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 16 at the Bridal and Evening Wear Shop located at 246 Post Road East in Westport. According to Assistant Fire Chief Philip Hessberger, the fire was discovered after the Westport Fire Department received a commercial automatic fire alarm.
