Drunk Wrong-Way Driver Causes Pile-Up On I-95 In CT: Police
A woman who Connecticut Police say caused a five-car pile-up on I-95 earlier this week was intoxicated when she got onto the interstate going the wrong direction. The Fairfield County crash happened just before 3 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, when New York City resident Jacqueline Remache, age 29, of the Bronx, got onto I-95 in Stamford going the wrong way, authorities said. She then pinballed against four other vehicles before finally stopping near Exit 9. Wrong-Way Driver, 21, Nabbed In CT Alleged DUI Incident
A man who had just become of legal drinking age was arrested on charges of drinking and driving after police saw him driving down the wrong way on I-384. It happened just after midnight on Friday, Aug. 18 in Manchester, according to Connecticut State Police. Troopers saw Bonifilio Ortiz-Perez, who turned 21 in July, driving west in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 384 near exit 4. Once pulled over, officers began to suspect that Ortiz-Perez was under the influence, and a sobriety test allegedly confirmed this.
