Alexia Paganini of Greenwich is competing in the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea. The 16-year-old will be representing Switzerland in the ladies' singles. Paganini began skating in 2003, representing the U.S. at two international events. In April 2016, she won the junior gold medal at the Gardena Spring Trophy in Italy. In August 2016, she finished sixth at an ISU Junior Grand Prix event in France. In 2017, the teen became interested in competing for Switzerland after a suggestion from her coach, Igor Krokavec.
