After serving for several months in an interim capacity, the assistant principal of a Fairfield County middle school now has the job for good. In an announcement on Friday, May 24, Greenwich Public Schools Superintendent Toni Jones revealed that Matthew Cerruto will be the new assistant principal at Western Middle School, effective Monday, July 1. A new principal has been named to take the helm at Western Middle School in Greenwich. Greenwich Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Toni Jones announced Tuesday, May 9, the appointment of Dr. PJ Wax III as principal of Western Middle School, effective Saturday, July 1. The Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) has officially named Gordon Beinstein, the principal of Western Middle School in Greenwich, as the Connecticut Principal of the Year for 2019. Mr. Beinstein was nominated by a number of students, teachers, administrators and parents, each of whom referenced the achievements and improvements in the school’s culture since his 2013 arrival. Threat To Middle School In Greenwich Under Investigation
Greenwich Police are being very closed about an investigation regarding a threatening message found at Western Middle School. The message, uncovered on Wednesday, was handwritten, but police would not comment on its content only to say the incident was under investigation. "We are investigating the incident," said Lt.
