Man Caught With Machete At Danbury Elementary School, Police Say A Fairfield County man was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon after he allegedly jumped a fence at an elementary school carrying a machete. The incident occurred in Danbury on Thursday, Aug. 17, at the Ellsworth Avenue School, at 53 Ellsworth Ave.  According to Erin Henry with the Danbury Police, officers responded to the school for a report of a person trespassing on school property with a machete. Fairfield County Man Nabbed With Loaded Firearm In I-84 Stop A Danbury man is facing a weapons charge after being busted by New York State Police troopers with an illegal firearm during a traffic stop on I-84 in Putnam County. Investigators announced this week that troopers stopped 46-year-old Esmelyn Hernandez’s Chevrolet Impala for a violation of vehicle and traffic laws on I-84 in Southeast. During the subsequent stop, it was determined that he was in possession of an illegal weapon, which was loaded.
