Mother Leaves 3-Year-Old In Hot Car, Shelton Police Say A toddler was left in a hot car outside a school in Shelton with the windows closed, leading to her mother’s arrest, police said. The Shelton Police Department was notified of a toddler left in an unoccupied toddler in a car with the windows closed at approximately 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5 at the Mohegan School. Upon arrival at the school, officers found a Honda Civic with the windows closed and a 3-year-old girl alone in the backseat.
