A 50-year-old woman has admitted to stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Connecticut nonprofit at which she served as executive director, federal officials said. A healthcare organization that provides substance abuse and mental health services in Fairfield County, has agreed to pay more than $350,000 in restitution for overcharging for certain services. U.S. Attorney John Durham said that Recovery Network of Programs Inc. (RNP) has entered into a civil settlement with the government to pay $354,367 to resolve allegations that it caused overpayments for urine drug testing services to be paid by the Connecticut Medicaid Program. The Centers for Disease Control has released a guide to assist parents in helping teenagers avoid using or abusing substances such as alcohol of marijuana. According to the CDC, “substance use by teens can have a big impact on their health and well-being. Fairfield Police: Driver In Crash Says He 'Took Every Drug In The Book'
FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A driver who told emergency personnel he was “God” and had taken “every drug in the book” was sent to the hospital late Friday after he ran his car into a tree, police said. Just before midnight, the driver was heading down Cornell Road and turning onto Melville Avenue when he struck the tree, police said. The car came to rest in the parking lot of Fairfield Warde High School.
