More Than 100+ Cars Takeover Stratford Street For Second Time In Week
Police in Connecticut had to break up another illegal "takeover" of a road after more than 100 cars blocked traffic during the weekend, authorities said.
Police in Fairfield County were called to 200 East Main St. in Stratford just after midnight on Sunday, Sept. 29, to reports of a takeover, authorities said.
When police arrived, many of the cars and pedestrians that gathered to watch scattered, but police were able to nab four of the participants, Stratford Police said.

A man was charged with alleged possession of child pornography following a months-long investigation in Connecticut.
Matthew Wood, age 50, of Fairfield, was arrested on Friday, Dec. 22, by Stratford Police.

Stratford Brothers Throw Assault Rifle Out Car Window Fleeing Traffic Stop, Police Say
Two Fairfield County brothers have been arrested for allegedly throwing an illegal assault rifle out of a car window while fleeing from a traffic stop.
Charlie Echevarria, age 28, and Moses Echevarria, age 24, both of Stratford, were arrested on Lenox Avenue on Sunday, June 11, said Lt. Robert Burroughs, of the Stratford Police.
Burroughs said the arrest stems from an incident on Tuesday, May 23 when while fleeing from police they threw a duffel bag out the car window that contained an assault rifle.

Fight At Stratford Gym Ends With Gun Drawn, 2 Arrests, Police Say
Two Fairfield County men were arrested after getting into a fight at a popular Stratford gym with one pulling a gun.
The incident took place in Stratford around 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 29 at the Esporta Fitness located at the 411 Barnum Avenue Cutoff.
According to Capt. Frank Eannotti of the Stratford Police, officers responded to the gym for a disturbance call.
During the incident, one of the people involved, Emmanuel Rivera, age 21, of Bridgeport pulled a firearm and threatened the other in the gym, Eannotti said.

A Fairfield County man has been charged with allegedly downloading more than 100 child-sex videos of underage girls.
Joel Marquez, age 21, of Stratford, was arrested on Wednesday, April 19, and charged with possession of child pornography, said the Stratford Police on Facebook.
Stratford detectives, who are members of the Internet Crimes Task Force, investigated Marquez’s actions which led to a search warrant for his electronic devices, police said.
The warrant search revealed Marquez had downloaded 22 photos and 117 videos showing pubescent and prepubescent girls in sex acts, police said.…

Police have apprehended a man wanted for months following a carjacking and assault at a gas station in Fairfield County.
The incident took place in Stratford on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021, at the Citgo gas station located on Main Street.
According to Capt. Frank Eannotti, of the Stratford Police, the victim left her vehicle running with the driver's door slightly ajar while getting gas.

A Fairfield County school bus driver has been charged with putting 26 middle school students at risk when he crashed into a FedEx van.
Harold Bollings, age 64, of Stratford, was arrested on Tuesday, March 1, on a warrant for the incident which took place on Wednesday, Jan. 12 in Stratford.
The crash took place in the area of 3241 Main St., said Captain Frank Eannotti, of the Stratford Police.

Police in Fairfield County are asking the public for help identifying two men who allegedly used stolen debit cards to purchase over $3,000 worth of items.
Stratford Police said the cards, which were stolen from a secured locker at the Edge Fitness Club in Stratford, were used at Dick's Spring Goods at the Milford Mall on Monday, Nov. 1.
The men were caught on surveillance seen leaving the mall with a large box of clothing worth $3,700, police said.
