An 18-year-old was shot and killed and another man injured during a shooting at a Bridgeport apartment complex.
Bridgeport Police were notified of a shooting by the Shot-Spotter around 5:37 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 26, on Highland Avenue, said Bridgeport Police Capt. Brian Fitzgerald.
Officers responded to the scene and located a man down on Highland Avenue adjacent to building No. 5 of Greene Homes, and a second victim down inside the Greene Homes complex, Fitzgerald said.

Body Found In Bridgeport Harbor ID'd As Man Wanted For Attempted Murder
A man found floating in Bridgeport Harbor has been identified as a person wanted for the alleged attempted murder of his girlfriend.
The body of Universal Yancey was discovered around 11:47 a.m., Monday, Sept. 30, in the area of 1 Atlantic St., said Rowena White, spokesperson for the Bridgeport Police Department.
Police had asked the public last week to be on the lookout for Yancey following the attempted stabbing of his girlfriend on Thursday, Sept. 26, on Fairfield Avenue, White said.

Monroe Man ID'd As Victim Of Fatal Route 111 Crash
Monroe Police have identified a man killed during a single-vehicle crash on the Monroe Turnpike.
Kenneth Tobin, 53, of Monroe, was killed around 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18, when he lost control of his Chevy Suburban, crossed the center lane, struck a bridge abutment and rolled the vehicle, which landed on its roof on the north shoulder of the road, said Monroe Police Lt. Steve Corrone.
Tobin was rushed to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, Corrone said.
The crash closed the busy highway for more than five hours as police investigated the crash.

Barricaded Man Found Dead In Bridgeport Basement After Shooting Ex-Girlfriend, Police Say
A man was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in the basement of a home following a standoff with police and the shooting of an ex-friend, Bridgeport Police said.
The incident started around 8:32 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 25, when police responded to the area of 250 Gilman St., in Bridgeport, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the department.
Responding officers did not initially locate a victim at the scene, but soon after officers met with a 21-year-old woman who drove to police headquarters after being shot by her ex-boyfriend Jovan Boyd, 28, of Bridgeport, Jones said.
