Darien Woman Loses $17,000 In Social Security Scam Call, Police Say
Police are investigating after a woman says she lost $17,000 in a Social Security scam call. Darien Police say they received a report about a fraudulent call on Friday, July 26 around 10:45 a.m. The victim allegedly stated that she had received a call at her Parklands Drive residence from a man identifying himself as "Christopher Greenburg." The caller knew the woman's personal information, leading her to believe that the call was legitimate, police say.
