Speeding DUI Driver Was Nearly 2X Legal BAC Limit In Fairfield County Traffic Stop: Police
A Norwalk driver was nearly twice the legal BAC limit when police stopped him for speeding in Wilton last week, authorities said. Ankit Bhutani, 27, was behind the wheel of a 1989 BMW 325i and heading south on Danbury Road near Ridgefield Road around 12:02 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, when he was stopped by a Wilton police officer unit for traveling 70 mph in a 35 mph zone and unsafe passing, the department said. Drunk Driver Crashes U-Haul Into Car In Wilton, Police Say
A Long Island man driving a U-Haul truck was charged with alleged DUI in Fairfield County after he passed another vehicle and struck it. The incident occurred in the town of Wilton on Wednesday, July 31, on Danbury Road (Route 7). According to Lt. Anna Tornello of the Wilton Police, Steve Otterbeck, age 58, of Huntington Station, was traveling south on Ridgefield Road in a U-Haul truck when he passed another car and struck it. A man whose license was suspended is accused of resisting arrest after a traffic stop in Fairfield County, according to police. An officer on patrol saw a vehicle that wasn't displaying a valid registration plate traveling in New Canaan on New Norwalk Road at about 4:10 p.m. on Friday, April 8, according to authorities.
