19-Car Pileup During Height Of Storm Among Hundreds Of Crashes Reported In Region
This story has been updated. A 19-car-pileup during the height of the Nor'easter was one of numerous storm-related crashes in the region, although most motorists stayed off roadways. At least six people were injured in the multi-vehicle crash that shut down part of the Henry Hudson Parkway in upper Manhattan Wednesday, Dec. 16 during the evening hours as the snow was beginning to pile-up. Off-Duty Danbury Firefighter Rescues Man Trapped After Rollover Crash
A firefighter on his way to work did what most firefighters do in a flash, rush to help someone in need, no matter the circumstances. That's what happened on Sunday, Nov. 17, when Danbury Firefighter Jeff Nolet was driving on the Saw Mill Parkway in Westchester reporting for duty on his night shift, said James A. Gagliardo, spokesman for the Danbury Fire Department. Here's When Motorists Should Avoid Area During Old TZB Demolition, Thruway Authority Says
The New York State Thruway Authority has a simple message for motorists during the controlled demolition period of the old Tappan Zee Bridge. Stay away. The new TZB will be closed for up to an hour during the old bridge's demolition and significant delays are expected and motorists should avoid the area and take alternate routes, the Thruway Authority said.
