One Killed In Crash That Causes I-95 Closure In Westport
This story has been updated. One person was killed and two hospitalized in an overnight single-vehicle crash that caused the hours-long closure of a stretch I-95. All three occupants of the vehicle were hospitalized following the crash, which occurred on the southbound side just north of Exit 17 in Westport at about 3:45 a.m., state police said. Two of those hospitalized were for precautionary reasons, police said. Crash Shuts Down Merritt Parkway Stretch
This story has been updated with new incidents. With snow overspreading the area, a crash has caused the closure of a stretch of the Merritt Parkway late Thursday afternoon. The crash, reported around 5:30 p.m., is northbound, closing the lanes between Route 137/High Ridge Road (Exit 35) in Stamford and Route 106/Exit 36 in New Canaan. Gridlock Alert: Crash Takes Out Lane On Merritt
This story has been updated. There was gridlock on a stretch of the Merritt Parkway late Saturday afternoon after a crash blocked the left lane. The northbound incident occurred between Exit 27 (King Street/Route 120A) near the Westchester border and Round Hill Road (Exit 28) in Greenwich. Delays of up to 20 minutes were reported until the lane was cleared around 5:30 p.m.

Garbage Truck Rolls Over, Causing Delays In Stamford
This story has been updated. Motorists were asked to avoid the intersection East Main and Seaside Avenue after a garbage truck rolled over, blocking lanes Wednesday afternoon. The crash, which occurred around noon, dumped garbage out of the tractor-trailer truck and has closed the westbound lanes at Waterbury Avenue. No one was injured, but motorists experienced delays as the road is cleared and the truck is removed.

Not Over Yet: Treacherous Travel With Downed Trees, Slick Roads In Area
It's not over yet. The Nor'easter tearing through the area has left thousands without power, hundreds of downed trees and power lines and numerous road closures, resulting in treacherous travel that will continue through Saturday morning. In the Hudson Valley, an 11-year-old boy was killed Friday afternoon when a tree crashed through a home amid the storm in Putnam County. One town in the area, Greenburgh, had 13 downed tree incidents as of late Friday afternoon. A total of 70,000 were left without power early Friday afternoon in Dutchess County, making it what a Central Hudson spokesman …
