New Canaan Woman Nabbed For DUI, Resisting Arrest, Police Say A Fairfield County woman was charged with DUI after an officer saw her allegedly running a stop sign and then smelled of alcohol. The incident occurred in New Canaan around 5 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 25, in the area of Ponus Ridge Road and Davenport Ridge Road. According to Lt. Marc DeFelice of the New Canaan Police, an officer on patrol observed a vehicle fail to obey a stop sign. Fairfield County Man Charged With Masturbating In Public, Police Say A Fairfield County man wanted for allegedly masturbating in public has been arrested. The incident took place in New Canaan on Sunday, Oct. 30. According to Lt. Marc DeFelice, of the New Canaan Police, officers responded to Ponus Ridge Road on a report of a man in the area seen masturbating in public. A follow-up investigation led to an arrest warrant for Quincy Carrion, age 22, of Bridgeport, who was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 15, and charged with breach of peace, DeFelice said. Vehicle Crashes Into Pole, Causing Road Closure In Fairfield County A busy road was closed and a driver was injured after crashing into a utility pole in Fairfield County, police said. It happened in New Canaan on Ponus Ridge Road around 5:30 a.m., Monday, May 9. The crash, which is under investigation, caused a utility pole to snap, which caused the road closure as Eversource worked to replace it, said Lt. Jason Ferraro, of the New Canaan Police. Police Looking To Locate Owner Of Dog That Bit Person On Fairfield County Roadway Police are searching for the owner of a dog that bit a person who was attempting to remove the dog from the roadway in Fairfield County. The incident took place in New Canaan in the area of Ponus Ridge Road and Bennington Place. A small white dog with a black electric fence collar bit the person at about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3, and then ran off, according to New Canaan Police Department. New Canaan Animal Control wants to find the dog's owner to confirm if the dog is rabies vaccinated. Anyone with information is asked to call New Canaan Animal Control at 203-594-3510.

The incident occurred at around 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29 in the area of Ponus Ridge Road near Greenley Road. When police arrived, they found an unoccupied van that had crashed into trees.
