A Fairfield County man was nabbed for alleged drunk driving after he was stopped for driving without a tire, with his hazard lights on. Stamford resident Edvin Palma, age 48, was charged on Sunday, June 9, on Noroton Avenue in Darien. According to Sgt. Mauricio Vigil of the Darien Police patrol officers spotted Palma driving a Honda Pilot northbound on Noroton Avenue with hazard lights on and emitting a loud thumping noise. A Connecticut man has been arrested after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman he was staying with, got kicked out of her house, and ran around traffic while completely naked from the waist down, police said. Tractor-Trailer Crash Causes Hours-Long I-95 Delays
This story has been updated. There were delays of around two hours on a stretch of I-95 after a tractor-trailer crash in Fairfield County. The crash happened on the northbound side Friday morning, Aug. 21 at around 4 a.m., initially shutting down all lanes in Darien between Noroton Avenue/Exit 10 and Route 1/Exit 11. One lane reopened around daybreak with traffic backed up to Harvard Avenue/West Avenue (Exit 6) in Stamford. The highway did not fully reopen until the end of the morning commute.

Crash Causes Lengthy Delays On I-95
This story has been updated. The Labor Day weekend started off with a crawl -- on a stretch of I-95 in Fairfield County, at least. A serious crash initially took out the right lane on the southbound side in Darien between Noroton Avenue (Exit 10) and Route 1/Post Road (Exit 9). There was stopped traffic at the scene and stop-and-go delays of about a half-hour to Exit 13 after the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. There were residual delays after the lane reopened about an hour later.
