Man Nabbed With Loaded Gun During Packed Stamford Fireworks Display, Police Say
A man was nabbed on the beach during a packed fireworks display after police received a tip through the CrimeStoppers gun program in Fairfield County. Justin Ramos, age 27, of Stamford, was arrested around 7 p.m. on Friday, July 7 at Cummings Beach with a loaded gun in his backpack, said Stamford Assistant Police Chief Richard Conklin. Conklin said members of the Narcotics and Organized Crime unit received the tips shortly before the event was scheduled to begin. Five people have been arrested for allegedly planning to burglarize parked vehicles in Fairfield County and for possession of stolen weapons. A Fairfield County man faces narcotics-related charges after police noticed paraphernalia in plain view while apprehending him for an illegitimate license plate. According to state police, 31-year-old Peter J. Wertz, of Bethel, was parked at the exit 16 commuter lot off I-84 in New Haven County when officers spotted his illegitimate license plate at approximately 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29 in Southbury. Westchester Man Extradited To Greenwich On Narcotics Possession Charge
A man from Westchester has been extradited to Greenwich on narcotics possession charges, according to police. Greenwich Police Department investigators say they responded to Downstate Correctional Facility (121 Red Schoolhouse Road in Fishkill, New York) on Tuesday, April 29 in order to take 29-year-old Vincent Chambless of Port Chester, New York into custody. Barbershop Owner Faces Drug Charge In Stamford
A barbershop owner was arrested after police officers saw a bag of cocaine fall out of his pocket while locking his business, Stamford Police said. The incident took place around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, when Officers Jamie Torres and Matthew Pompa decided to do some “old fashioned” police work, said Stamford Police Lt. Michael Noto.
