The incident occurred in Fairfield County around 3:50 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 7 on Haviland Drive in Trumbull. Chief Greg Sanfanandre of the Long Hill Fire Company said Shaun Bogen, a town highway maintainer and firefighter with the same company, was working his snowplow when he noticed a garage fire. Two Hospitalized Following Fire At Shelton Home Two people were hospitalized following an early morning house fire in Fairfield County. The fire began around 2:42 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 10, at a house on Hawley Road, in Shelton, said the Shelton Fire Department. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found a large volume of smoke coming from the home, with the fire located in the basement, the department said. Large House Fire In Fairfield County Has Closed Roadway A large house fire in Fairfield County has closed a busy roadway in the area. The Monroe Fire Department was called to the scene of the fire around 10:24, Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 138 Hattertown Road in Monroe. First arriving units found the home fully engulfed in flames, said Lt. Stephen Corrone, of the Monroe Police Department. In order to allow for emergency vehicles, Hattertown Road is currently closed in the area, he added. Andy Rivera, 36, of Redding, was killed around 5:33 p.m., Sunday,  July 14, on Route 59 in the area of 757 Stepney Road, said Easton Police Chief Timothy Shaw. One Killed In Head-On Crash Near Monroe/Easton Border A man was killed during a two-vehicle head-on crash near the Monroe/Easton border over the weekend. Police Officer Passing By Awakens Family Before Fire Destroys Shelton Home A fire that spread quickly destroyed a home in Shelton. The blaze broke around just before 7 a.m. Sunday, May 19. Shelton Patrol Officer Michael Kichar of the Shelton Police Department was on his way to work when he observed smoke coming from a residence at 184 Meadow St. in Shelton. Support Pours In From New Canaan Co-Workers After Fire Destroys Colleague's House Employees of the town of New Canaan are working hard to raise money through a GoFundMe page to help a fellow employee who lost their home to a fire. Employee Nick Colabella lost his Monroe home he shared with his wife, two daughters and mother to the fire on July 12.  The family, who were on the way to their grandmother's funeral when the fire started, lost everything in the fire. According to Mose Saccary, the highway superintendent in New Canaan who started the page, the fire started in the garage, but Colabella could not extinguish the fire himself and called the Monroe Fire Department.…
